Heavenly - Our Love Is Heavenly
We may not in this room have tiger blood like he does. But we do have something else in common with him: There’s going to be a lot of winning on the Republican side. … If this was a Lady Gaga song, the relationship between the youth vote and Barack Obama would be ‘Bad Romance.’
“Former Minnesota Gov. and Republican presidential hopeful Tim Pawlenty, overdoing the pop culture references at a speech in Iowa last week. “
Meaning, uh, the nation’s youth want Barack’s leather studded kiss in the sand?
(via theatlantic)
Dear GOP-heads,
You can’t claim the religious vote and still have any appeal for Lady Gaga fans. She is a supporter of LGBTQ rights and actively tries to shock ‘ordinary’ people. Also, why in the hell would you want to compare your party with Charlie Sheen? The man is mentally unstable and a drug abuser. What are you thinking?
Happy to see you lose, keep up the good work,
Brian

The Shins- Turn On Me
I really love this song at the moment.
I know its not ‘hip’ to like The Shins, but I’m going to do it anyways. It is assumed that one so elitist as I am about music would condemn anyone for listening to anything that could be construed as ‘mainstream.’ Mainstream doesn’t mean bad, even if it is true more often than not.
The Shins were one of my favorite bands towards the end of High School, and they played a great concert at Bumbershoot a few years back. This album, in particular, has a lot of history for me. There was a girl and you fill in the rest.
This song is really compelling, the chorus is very catchy and the rest of the song is a perfect pop balance of happy and melancholy.

One of the few kinds of electronica I’m really interested in, sextronic pop. What, you ask, is sextronic pop? Listen and find out.
